The Franklin Mountains State Park has dozens of hiking trails, I chose Mundy’s Gap after several suggestions from various individuals. It was a somewhat difficult hike for a beginner.
I began the hike at 8:00 am, stopped half a dozen times, and finally reached the top – sweating profusely, out of breath, and my heart racing so fast that I thought it might explode. Mind you, it was in the seventies and I would not consider myself fit by any means. However, this view was well worth it.
Although I was only able to explore one trail, I did notice a few very nice rock climbing spots. Maybe I will have to take it up?
This ended up being a six hour hike, worth every second. I could go on, and on about the landscape and scenery, but I thought it would be best to just leave my favorite photos here.
